Skills Bootcamps are Back

Skills Bootcamps are Back

We are delighted to once again offer ambitious individuals a chance to fast-track to a new career for free, or upskill in their current one, with the launch of three new Skills Bootcamps starting from October.

A guaranteed interview with a local employer upon completion is on offer to unemployed or self-employed people aged 19 and over, who can kick-start their careers in construction or digital marketing in as little as three weeks.

While qualified and employed auto technicians can gain the skills and qualifications to work on Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (EV/HEV) in our new training centre, which has received £500k of investment into new kit, staff training and improvements to learning spaces.

Over the past two years, we have been a trailblazer in providing solutions to skills gap shortages in the region, thanks to its award-winning apprenticeships, employer partnerships and innovative industry links.

Amie Nutbrown, Head of Commercial, said: “You simply won’t find immersive training workshops that mirror real world environment like ours anywhere else in the county. Gloucestershire College is perfectly placed to deliver Skills Bootcamps to train the talent of tomorrow, whilst helping Gloucestershire employers bridge their skills gap.

“We are dedicated to ensuring our adult learners and employers are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills they need to grow, and our new Skills Bootcamps, supported by the Government will almost certainly help them achieve this.”

With the government planning to end the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2030, and more than £3 billion investment flowing into the UK zero emission vehicle sector, there has never been a better time to upskill in this industry. Our on-site motor vehicle workshops in Gloucester are fully equipped as you would expect in a real garage, and its lecturers have decades of industry experience, which ensures learners leave us with the experience and confidence they need to succeed.

You might not think construction and digital marketing would go hand-in-hand. However, with the anticipated cyber park being built right on GC’s doorstep, construction skills in the local area are in high demand, as are digital marketers to promote the start-ups, scale-ups and tech giants who will be utilising the site and supporting a hive of industries.
