Gloucestershire College was proud to sponsor this year’s CyNam Charity Ball, helping to raise an incredible £33,545 for the Big Space Cancer Appeal, supporting Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity.

The funds raised will go towards the development of a brand-new, state-of-the-art cancer centre, which will provide enhanced support for families, dedicated recovery spaces and greater privacy for patients undergoing cancer treatment.

The Charity Ball brought together more than 180 senior leaders, founders, technology professionals and public sector representatives from across the cyber, technology and wider business communities. The event was a fantastic opportunity to unite people from across the region, bringing their collective support together to make a meaningful difference to local healthcare.

Representatives from Gloucestershire College, including colleagues from our Computing, IT and Cyber Department, joined Eva Bullman from Capgemini, Rob Stemp, CTO at DeepMind, and David Barrett, Director of Regional Engagement at UWE Bristol, to hear inspiring stories and learn more about the groundbreaking work involved in developing the new facility.

The event highlighted the importance of collaboration and the positive impact that can be achieved when organisations and individuals come together to support a shared cause.

As a college with deep roots in the Gloucestershire community, we remain committed to supporting initiatives and projects that make a lasting difference to local people. We are incredibly proud to have played a part in this year's fundraising efforts and look forward to seeing the Big Space Cancer Appeal progress, helping to create a brighter future for patients and their families across our region.
