Welcome to GC! Freshers Fair Kicks Off the Year
Our Freshers Fair has been and gone across Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cinderford, and what a few days it was!
The fair was a great chance for new students to settle in, find their feet and get to know the clubs and activities on offer. It was also an ideal opportunity to start exploring career and education options early in the academic year.
Food, fun and activities
Students enjoyed plenty to keep them busy at every campus:
A 5.5m mobile climbing wall from 270 Climbing, big enough for two climbers at a time
Fresh pizza from Pizza Suprema at a reduced price, with vegan and gluten-free options available on request
Ice creams from M&M ices
Meeting the experts
Learners met a wide range of organisations offering support, enrichment, careers advice, volunteering, employment pathways and university progression.
Support services included Young Gloucestershire, Young Carers, Music Works, Let's Talk Well, Queer Futures Gloucestershire, Rethink and many more.
Enrichment organisations and employers included Gloucestershire Constabulary, Stagecoach SouthWest, DWP, Freedom Leisure, The Gym Group and GC Apprenticeships.
Higher education providers included the University of South Wales, University of Worcester, Falmouth University, Bath Spa, Oxford Brookes, Coventry University and GC HE, plus UCAS and UWE Bristol at our Gloucester campus.
Thank you to everyone who came along, and to all our guests for giving their time. We hope our new students enjoyed it as much as we did. Bring on Freshers 2027!
