How are apprenticeships funded?
The government will fully fund apprenticeship training for SMEs with apprentices aged 16-21, who started their training after 1 August 2024. For apprentices from the age of 22, the government will fund 95% of the apprenticeship costs.
Levy-paying employers (with the salary bill of over £3m) are advised to utilise 50% of their levy pot for apprenticeship training under the recently announced Growth and Skills Levy that will replace the Apprenticeship Levy under the new government.
