Gloucestershire College has partnered with Mindful Education to create a suite of blended learning courses that provide flexible study options, combining online learning with face-to-face lessons in the classroom.
Our range of professional courses offers the best of both worlds, requiring less time in college than traditional classroom-only courses, and allowing learners to choose how, when and where they want to study.
L1 Access Award in Business Skills
For professionals keen to learn transferable skills, those wanting to start a career in accounting, and businesses looking to grow.
Delivery: Remote learning
Length: 12 weeks
Start date: Tuesday 6 October (evenings)
A Level 1 qualification with no entry requirements, which covers basic accounting techniques and principles, enabling learners to gain a broad understanding of the business environment.
There is funding available to cover the course cost, for those eligible. Contact Student Services to check if you're eligible.
L2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting
To develop accounting career and prepare for junior accounting roles.
Delivery: Blended learning (online and on campus)
Length: 12 months
Campus: Gloucester or Cheltenham
Start date: Thursday 10 September (afternoons or evenings)
A Level 2 qualification that delivers a solid foundation in finance administration; covering everything from double entry bookkeeping to basic costing principles and using accounting software.

L3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting
A stepping stone to achieving professional AAT Bookkeeper status.
Delivery: Blended learning (online and on campus)
Length: 12 months
Campus: Gloucester
Start date: Monday 7 September (Monday mornings and Thursday evenings)
A Level 3 qualification that covers a range of complex accounting tasks. Students learn to master financial processes, including accounting principles and concepts, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts, VAT issues in business, management accounting costing techniques and ethical practices for accountants.

L2 Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship
To upskill into junior and entry level accounting roles, providing a solid foundation in finance administration.
Delivery: Blended learning (online and on campus)
Length: 15 months
Campus: Cheltenham or Gloucester
Start date: September (half day on campus one week and half day online the next)
A Level 2 apprenticeship covering keeping financial records and preparing accounts, including everything from invoices, payment processing and bank reconciliations to double entry bookkeeping, basic costing principles and balancing accounts.

Note regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19): Due to the nature of our Online and On Campus courses, with key concepts being taught online through high-quality video lectures, students are able to continue their studies seamlessly with social distancing in place. Some of the regular ‘On Campus’ lessons can be replaced by remote ‘virtual classroom’ sessions led by college tutors. This flexible approach can be easily adapted to suit government guidance and college policies.
