Your GC Course Choice

The deadline to change your GC Course Choice is, 31st July. We have this date in place to offer a fair application process for all applicants.
Applications for full-time courses that are not someone's GC Course Course in August will be closed as these are not considered for enrolment, only your GC Course Choice is taken forward to enrolment at the end of August.
In some cases, we may ask applicants to confirm earlier, this would be communicated out via text message notification and email.

No, we only have a GC Course Choice which is taken forward to enrolment, other applications are not visible and will be closed after our GC Course Choice deadline of 31st July.
Remember, it is only your GC Course Choice that will be reviewed at enrolment, if you do not meet the entry criteria of your GC Course Choice or the course is at capacity at enrolment our academic team will contact you to discuss alternative courses/levels. You do not need to hold a range of courses open.

All our offers are conditional, they are conditional too:
- Meeting and evidencing the entry criteria for the course you have applied for.
- Course capacity, an applicant's priority for enrolment is also assessed on application date order. Applications open from October, we recommend applying by the 31st March, anything after this date is considered late.
- Engagement with any assessments or tasks (if requested).
- Proactive engagement with the Admissions pre-enrolment process.
- For current or returning students we will also consider your current or previous years with GC, attendance, engagement, and overall student record.

You do not need to re-apply or make any changes to your application. The best advice we can give is to upload your results when prompted and at enrolment our academic team will review your application and will refer you to a more suitable level.

No, an Apprenticeship is different to a Full-Time course. You need to have secured yourself and employer, if you have, we will work with our Apprenticeship Team to make sure you enrol to the correct course in September but recommend you keep engaging with your Full-Time course until your Apprenticeship enrolment has been confirmed.

You can apply for another subject via your online account through the website or request to change your GC Course Choice to an existing application by contacting the Admissions Team. Although we would like to make you aware that any late applications will risk your chances at securing a place at Gloucestershire College.
To keep enrolment as fair as possible enrolment is prioritised on application date order and we work on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Changing your GC Course Choice after 31st July will put you to back of the enrolment queue and will be considered a late application.

We do advise against new applications and changes after this point, as we enrol based on application date order (with applications having opened from October) and pro-active engagement with our Admissions processes a change at this time will affect your enrolment priority.

Year 11 - GCSE Results Day - 19th August

GCSE results will be released on Thursday 19th August, for further details on how your will receive them please contact your school.

You must contact your school before GCSE Results Day to discuss an alternative way of receiving them.

We recommend uploading your results onto the online enrolment portal the day you receive them, please make sure they are uploaded and you have confirmed your details on the pre-enrolment portal by Sunday 22nd August.
We begin enrolling from Monday 23rd August, any steps completed after this date are considered late and could put your place in our enrolment queue at risk.

Still upload your results – if you have done better than expected or not as well as you'd hoped we will still consider your enrolment at GC. However, we may offer a more appropriate level for you to start with.
You do not need to reapply for a different level course. Our enrolment schedule is based on the date you applied, so submitting a later application would push your place further down our schedule and would be against our advice.

If you are aged 16-18 and have not achieved a Grade 4 in Maths and English you do not need to apply for this, we will add this to your timetable when you are enrolled if you are aged under 19 as of the 31st August 2027.

Our deadline to confirm your GC Course Choice is 31st July. If you would like to change after this date, you will need to make a new application which we strongly advise against.
Please note – we strongly advise against re-applying for another course, our enrolment schedule is based on the date you applied, so submitting a later application would push your place further down our schedule and you may put a place on course you desire to do at risk.

If you have not sat any exams and are not receiving results on Thursday 19th August and you have not already been in contact with the Admissions Team or call us on 0345 155 2020 (option 3).

Thursday 19th August - GCSE Results Day.
Sunday 22nd August - Your pre-enrolment portal (confirming your details and uploading your GCSEs) must be complete by Sunday 22nd August, a delay in completing these steps will delay any enrolment and could risk your place in the enrolment queue (based on application date order).
Monday 23rd August - Tuesday 31st August - Main enrolment period, our academic team will be enrolling applicants onto courses throughout this week - please do not come to college, enrolment takes place remotely over this week.
Please note - college will be shut on Monday 30th August due to Bank Holiday.
Wednesday 1st September - First day of term (subject to your timetable which will be sent after you have received enrolment confirmation from us).

You will need to take a photo of your results slip or a screenshot and upload this to the My Qualifications section of your pre-enrolment portal.
We will send you the link on Thursday morning in a text message.
When uploading a photo remember:
When uploading your qualifications please make sure you take a photo of the full page and do not cut anything out of it.
If you are uploading multiple photos, we recommend uploading one at a time.
Consider whether you are using Wi-Fi or Data to upload, a Data connection to upload your photo of your qualifications may be stronger.
Online Enrolment Portal

Our Admissions Team will send you an email with a link to the online enrolment portal from July onwards. We will also remind you what email to use to create a password for your account.
Follow the instructions we have sent to create a password to access the online enrolment portal.

If you have forgotten your password, please click the 'Forgotten password' link to send a password reset email to the email address you applied with.

You can view any of the "Need Help" areas on the portal to give you information and guidance about what information we need. This should help you find a solution; sometimes the information we request won't be mandatory or we can suggest the types of documents you can find the information on.

Once you have submitted your personal details to us, you will not be able to change your details on the portal. Please contact the Admissions Team or call us on 0345 155 2020 (option 3) who will be able to help you update your details – we’re here to help.

Enrolment Process

All applicants are required to:
· Confirm their details on the pre-enrolment portal
· Upload a copy of their results slip or certificates
· Upload a photo for their ID badge
The pre-enrolment portal will be sent to applicants from July onwards.
Applicants will also be required to complete a Maths and English assessment when prompted to.

Our enrolment schedule is based on the date you applied the earlier you applied the higher up your application will be on our schedule, as well as pro-active engagement of our pre-enrolment steps ahead of any deadlines set, a delay in completing any pre-enrolment steps can jeopardise an applicants priority in the enrolment schedule.
Applications have been open since October 2026 and we do recommend applying before 31st March to give you the best chance of securing a place on your first-choice course. Applications will not close until the end of September 2027.

Enrolment begins from Monday 23rd August for applicants who have completed their pre-enrolment portal steps.
Main Enrolment runs through until Tuesday 31st August. We do enrol past this date up until Friday 1st October, this will be for late applicants or those who complete their pre-enrolment steps late.
During this week once you are enrolled you will be sent a confirmation from Admissions, within 24 hours of receiving confirmation you will be sent your timetable by a gcadmin@gloscol.ac.uk inbox.

Term begins from Wednesday 1st September; this is timetable dependant and will be confirmed after you have been enrolled.
Important Information:
Please note - Full Time Further Education courses do not begin until at least Wednesday 1st September, whilst you will be sent a timetable for the full week the college is closed on Monday 30th August and Tuesday 31st September.
Whilst term does begin on a Wednesday, if Wednesday is blank on your timetable, you do not need to come in on this day.
Maths and English will classes will begin from the 13th September.

The last day to apply for a September 2027 start is Thursday 30th September.

Applications will close on Thursday 30th September with the last day to begin your course being Friday 1st October.

Still upload your results – if you have not done as well as you'd hoped we will still consider your enrolment at GC. However, we may offer a more appropriate level for you to start with.
Our academic team will check your results against the entry criteria and if you do not meet criteria they will refer you to a more suitable level, they may also call you to discuss your course option.

Within 24 to 48 hours after you have received your enrolment confirmation from Admissions you will be sent your acknowledgement of enrolment and timetable, this will come from the gcadmin@gloscol.ac.uk inbox.
