We are pleased to confirm our academic sponsorship and continued support for CyNam in 2022/2023.

A trusted partner for three years running, CyNam is a leading player in Cheltenham’s cyber security scene thanks to its extensive programme of events and activities that bring together industry and academia; offering valuable opportunities for learners and employers of all sizes.

This year, the University of West of England (UWE) has joined forces with GC as joint academic sponsors, and we look forward to another year championing cyber security education across the county.

As NCSC-recognised centre of excellence, UWE delivers the hugely popular BSc Cyber Security Technical Professional Degree Apprenticeship in partnership with GC. In addition, the university works with local schools to upskill teachers through outreach events includingUnlock Cyberand CyberFirst Schools initiative.

We’re thrilled to sponsor CyNam for a third year running, and to further strengthen our partnership with UWE Bristol as a result. Our joint NCSC-accredited cyber degree apprenticeship continues to prove invaluable to employers and we look forward to launching the new Digital and Technology Solutions (DATS) degree apprenticeship in September 2023.”said Julie Tegg, Director, Employer Training & Apprenticeships at GC.

CyNam is a key driver in the region’s cyber skills growth agenda and our sponsorship reflects the continued alignment of our strategies and mission to attract, develop and retain talent in Gloucestershire.”

The key drivers for further developing the relationship with CyNam have been the recent successes of the joint GC/UWE Cyber Security Apprenticeship Degree programme. This year, our plan is to continue building momentum for cyber security training in the local business community. It includes advocating apprenticeships to train and upskill people of all ages, promoting the benefits of Level 3 and Level 4 apprenticeship programmes and launching new software and networking and DevOps apprenticeships.
