Lifetime skills guaranteed with free adult courses
We’re helping Gloucestershire get back on its feet by offering a wide range of courses to adults for FREE, as part of the government-backed Lifetime Skills Guarantee scheme.
The new range of courses are fully funded for those aged 19 and over, who don’t hold a full Level 3 qualification (equivalent to A Levels), and aim to transform the system to ensure more adults, regardless of age or background, can get the skills they need to gain a lifelong career, or progress in their current one.
Courses are delivered part-time on campus or self-study online, to fit around existing work and home commitments, and are usually paid for by the learner or a loan – with some usually costing over £5,000.
Some courses are accredited by professional bodies such as the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and the Institute for Leadership and Management (ILM); some are trade-specific and require experience or other qualifications as part of the entry criteria, while others are open to those looking to launch a career in the care or business sectors.
Courses available include:
- NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations
- NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations
- Level 3 Electrical Installation
- AAT Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping
- ILM Diploma in Leadership and Management (online)
- Understanding Mental Health (online)
- Dementia Care (online)
- End of Life Care (online)
These free courses all start before 31st July and are expected to be hugely popular, so we recommend those interested apply soon to secure a place.
