Join the creators and makers of the future

Gloucestershire College is a proud partner in the West of England Institute of Technology (WEIoT), working in collaboration with academic and employer partners to deliver word-class technical education.

For a career in engineering, cyber and computing, Gloucestershire College is the place to develop.

  • NEW cutting-edge facilities
  • Higher-level courses and apprenticeships
  • Placements with industry-leading employers
  • Located next to GCHQ and the UK's new cyber park

What is the WEIoT?

Institutes of Technology (IoTs) are a government-backed programme offering an alternative to universities by specialising in delivering higher-level technical training in STEM subjects. The WEIoT is one of only 12 IoTs in the UK.

The WEIoT will boost young people's skills and provide a route for students taking T levels or A Levels to move onto higher-level technical education. We also support individuals already in work to progress with higher-level technical training at Level 4 and above in STEM subjects.

As part of the WEIoT, GC secured £3 million to invest in engineering lab equipment and a state-of-the-art cyber training centre known as ADA: The Advanced Digital Academy, named after Ada Lovelace, the first computer programmer.
