What is a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ)?
HTQs are either new or existing Level 4 and 5 qualifications (such as HNDs/Foundation Degrees/Diploma HE) that have been approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education as meeting occupational standards for the relevant sector. These qualifications have been developed by awarding bodies in collaboration with employers and businesses so that students get the specific training, knowledge and skills required for their chosen career.
Your HTQ pathway to an IT degree
HNC Computing (Level 4)
Expect a mix of hands-on, practical and theoretical learning, over traditional university-style lectures - and equates to the first year of university, in terms of UCAS points.

Networking
Database Design and Development
Security
Choose: Software Development Lifecycles, Data Analytics, Strategic Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence
For those who have completed A Levels or a Level 3 equivalent (Extended Diploma or T Level) in computing.
HND Computing (Level 5)
Our HND is a flexible course; we'll work with you to select the right mix of modules to help you achieve your career in cyber security, software or network engineering.

Application Development
For students who have completed the HNC or first year of university.
IT Top-up Degree (Level 6)
Taught by expert GC and UWE Bristol lecturers, this one-year course will top-up your existing qualifications and turn them into a full honor's degree.
This course is for students who have completed the HNC and HND or first two years of university.
