Autocare Technician Apprenticeship (Level 2)

Our Autocare Technician Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard is designed in consultation with local employers and provides learners with a fantastic start to their automotive career.

Apprentices can gain expertise not only in the technical elements of the role but also learn excellent customer handling, sales as well as strong problem solving and self-organisation skills. 

This apprenticeship standard is ideal for:

Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship (Level 3)

Our motor vehicle apprenticeship covers the repair and maintenance of all types of light vehicles. Whether your company is a dealership that focuses on a particular manufacturer or an independent garage that works with many different makes of vehicles, we can support you with apprenticeship training.

Motor Vehicle apprentices will develop a range of skills from replacing parts through to solving complex faults using our modern diagnostic equipment, test rigs and range of makes and models of cars in our workshops, including hybrids.

Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship (Level 3)

Funding for motor vehicle apprentices

While employers will need to cover apprentice's salary (see here for minimum wage guidance) and National Insurance contributions (although there are exceptions), most training costs are funded by the government.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown:

  • £1,000 incentive for employers hiring an apprentice aged 18 or under (or 24 or under if a care leaver or with an EHC plan)

  • Fully funded for non-levy employers with apprentices aged between 16 and 21

  • 95% of training costs funded for non-levy employers with apprentices aged 22 and over

  • Covered by your levy if you’re a levy-paying employer

  • No National Insurance contributions for apprentices under 25 earning less than £967 per week

  • Recruitment is free if done via the government apprenticeship service or Gloucestershire College. We can also help you screen and shortlist candidates at no cost
