Congratulations to our 2025 Higher Education Graduates!

Higher Awards Ceremony 2025
Higher Awards Ceremony 2025

We recently celebrated our students’ fantastic achievements with a Higher Awards Ceremony at the historic Gloucester Cathedral. It was a joyful occasion, bringing together students, their families, our lecturers and VIP guests to applaud everyone who has successfully completed their higher education journey at Gloucestershire College.

The beautiful Gloucester Cathedral made a truly memorable setting for the ceremony. Our graduates followed in the footsteps of those before them as they walked through the historic Norman Nave to receive their awards, a well-deserved recognition of their academic excellence, dedication and hard work over the years.

Our guest of honour and keynote speaker, James Camp, Content Creation Specialist, former lecturer and proud alumnus took to the stage to share some heartfelt advice about believing in yourself and recognising that everyone’s journey is unique. Speeches from Matthew Burgess, our Principal and CEO, and others highlighted not only academic success but also the resilience, adaptability and commitment to lifelong learning that make these achievements truly special.

The wide range of subjects represented at the ceremony really showed the breadth of programmes we offer at GC. From accounting apprenticeships and digital media degrees to counselling and arts courses, our graduates highlighted the college’s commitment to delivering a well-rounded, future focused education that supports the local economy and helps tackle skills gaps head on.

Karen Morris, Vice Principal Curriculum and Quality said; “Congratulations to all of our graduates on your higher education achievement. Your success comes as a result of hard work, dedication and determination, It is a measure of your ability to learn and apply skills and knowledge at a higher level.

Your higher education qualification gives you the key to new doors that may have previously been locked to you, and we look forward to hearing how you progress in your career ambitions as a result.”

Our Higher Awards Ceremony at Gloucester Cathedral was a momentous occasion, blending tradition with contemporary achievement. The ceremony not only celebrated academic success but also the importance of respect, responsibility, ambition and collaboration in the pursuit of knowledge. As graduates step into the next phase of their lives and careers, this ceremony will resonate in their minds, inspiring them to reach greater heights in their career journey.

We are so excited to see what our alumni get up to next. Best of luck to the class of 2024/2025!
