Creative Writer's Workshop

Level X
Cheltenham

Course Overview

Part Time
Certificate

Participation in our evening classes provides far more than the opportunity to learn new skills but also numerous benefits to our mental health and wellbeing . Evening classes are known to lower stress levels, improve confidence, increase social integration, contribute to personal growth and lifelong learning to name just a few advantages.

This workshop is aimed at those who have already started writing. You may be struggling with a block or inspiration. Each session will start with a writer's prompt as a writing exercise. The session will allow you to gain peer feedback and talk through any blocks or conflicts you may have.

This is a very interactive workshop, with feedback from both the tutor and other students so you should be comfortable to have your work read by the others in the class and also be happy to write during the class.

As this is a workshop rather than formal taught lessons, content will be driven by the issues and discussions that the participants encounter. You will explore how to move out of blocks and where inspiration can hit and the process that writer's go through.

  • Our recreational courses are for adults aged 19 and older (as at 31st August of the academic year).

This workshop is aimed at those who already have experience of writing. Beginners may like to consider the Creative Writing as an alternative option.
