What you will learn
You’ll understand how to design and provide software solutions using the latest software applications, security controls, digital environments, data management, business contexts and legislation. With an emphasis on using digital evidence to solve problems, you’ll learn the core knowledge that underpins software and product design and develop specific skills that are essential in the digital industry.
You'll learn to apply procedures and controls to maintain the digital security of an organisation and its data and understand both physical and virtual infrastructure.
With a work placement of at least 45 days, you’ll work on live projects in a workplace and see how the digital side of business really works.

Assessment
This course is assessed through a combination of:
- Core Examinations: Knowledge, skills and understanding that go across the specification
- Employer Set Project: Apply core knowledge and skills in a piece of work set by your placement employer
- English, maths and digital skills
- Occupational specialism: Digital production, design and development
Anything else?
- As well as learning the theory, you’ll have a 315-hour industry placement that is related to the digital sector
- The course includes an occupational specialism component, where you can focus on up-to-date industry knowledge and skills that are highly valued by employers and those in the digital industry
- You’ll study core maths, and gain an AS Maths qualification alongside the T Level
- You’ll also develop transferable soft skills and critical work skills? that prepare you for your next steps
