Digital media use is everywhere, from screen-based systems and physical interaction to urban social networks and mobile commerce in the developing world. As the demand for content creators and digital professionals grows, you’ll learn to create engaging digital experiences in a range of environments.

Designed in partnership with UWE Bristol, this one-year course helps you specialise in digital content creation and design. You’ll develop a strong portfolio, expand your technical skills, and gain experience working on real-world briefs, preparing for a career in the fast-growing creative and digital industries.

On this practical, project-led course, you’ll blend creative and technical learning and build a standout portfolio through hands-on work with cutting-edge technologies.

Modules include:

You’ll learn the fundamentals of programming, web technologies and design and visualisation techniques. You’ll also get to explore rich media creation, multi-platform deployment, physical computing, testing and project management.

Whether you choose to specialise in design and coding, web development, media production, or games development, you’ll develop a strong grounding in industry-standard processes, technologies and their application.

The course also explores physical computing, testing, and project management, while building your understanding of the ethical, legal and commercial landscape of the media industry. You’ll collaborate on student-run projects, respond to live briefs from local businesses, and develop the skills required for success in roles such as designer, developer, creative technologist or UX specialist.

You’ll gain an accredited degree whilst studying close to home. You can also look forward to:

  • Working on ‘live’ projects provided by local businesses

I studied at Wyedean School and Sixth Form where I took History, Maths, Computer Science and Physics for A Levels. My interest in cyber was sparked when I went on a CyberFirst Advanced residential course which I loved, so thought why not pursue cyber security as a career choice! If you have an interest in IT and problem solving, then definitely consider studying cyber.
