This course will equip learners with a detailed understanding of Functional Skills in English Level 2, including core modules that will aid employability and confidence in key skills.
The on-line e-learning resources are sequenced to challenge the learner and maximise the development of crucial skills for work and life. Learners will work through all the key modules to fully prepare themselves for their Functional Skills examination.
Based on an average weekly study time of 6-10 hours you could complete the qualification in as little as 6 weeks.

What you will learn.
Our Functional Skills English Level 2 on-line course is made up of three key modules.
- Reading
- Speaking (to be completed via Teams with a maximum of 4 participants)
- Writing

Please note: While our online courses are designed to offer flexibility, allowing you to study at your own pace and around your existing commitments, there are set deadlines in place to support timely completion.
It’s important to understand that completing the online modules alone does not constitute full achievement of the qualification. Certification will only be issued once the on-site assessment has been successfully completed.
Upon successful completion of the online modules, you will be required to complete three assessments under exam conditions at a mutually agreed time.
- Reading and Writing assessments will take place at our Gloucester Campus, located at Llanthony Road, Gloucester, GL2 5JQ.
- Speaking & Listening assessment will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams, with a maximum of four participants per session.
Please ensure you have valid photo identification available, as this will be required to verify your identity before sitting the assessments.
