With access to high-spec Macs and the Adobe Creative Suite, you’ll work in our specialist design studios under the guidance of experienced industry professionals.
The course is hands-on and project-based, helping you develop the confidence to express your creativity and build a portfolio of work that demonstrates your skills.

Assessment
The Level 2 Extended Certificate in Graphic Design is project-based. Assessment takes place at the end of each project/unit, allowing your abilities to be graded from pass to distinction level. You’ll complete a range of practical assignments that demonstrate your skills in visual communication, digital design, and creative problem-solving.
Anything Else
There is a course fee charged at enrolment to cover essential course materials and trips. This includes use of iPads, Apple pencils, Wacom pen, photography equipment, print credits, Poska pens and other consumable equipment that you use.
Students are timetabled 3-4 days a week in college with a mixture of design sessions, academic tutorials, master classes, guest speakers and trips. All students are expected to work outside of timetabled sessions.
At Gloucestershire College we want students to develop their English and Maths skills so that they achieve their learning goals and future career aims. For this reason, all full-time students (16-18) who have not achieved grade 4 or above English language or maths GCSE will study these subjects as part of their course.
You’ll also complete 100 hours of CPD and develop additional employability and work-based skills through our Which Three Skills programme.
