All Level 3 students will have the opportunity to undertake a range of live projects in using photography for graphics, fashion design as well as numerous competitions. In recent years our students have won national awards. We have our own in-house design agency that will give you the opportunity to pitch for jobs and gain that all important industry experience. Our lecturers have a wealth of experience and are active in the industry exhibiting international.
The photography industry is very diverse and opportunities can include studio based work, locations, music photography, fashion or commercial. In the last couple of years our students have produced the official photography for the Lakefest music festival.
Other jobs in the industry can be divided into several areas, including:
• Photography - Advertising and Editorial Photographer, General Practice (Social) Photographer, Press Photographer or Photojournalist, Fashion Photographer, Scientific Photographer, Corporate Photographer, Forensic Photographer, Medical Photographer, Assistant Photographer, Staff Photographer
• Photographic Laboratories and Image Producers - Minilab Operator, Print Finishing Technician, Digital Imaging Specialist
• Photo Retail - Photo Retail Manager, Minilab Operator Photo
• Retail Picture Libraries - Picture Researcher, Picture Library Manager
• Manufacturers - Field Service Technician, Marketing Executive
• Equipment [Support Services - Product Repair Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Product Returns Management Technician.
Gloucestershire College welcome any other/combinations of relevant qualifications that are comparable and/or equivalent to the typical course entry requirements.
For 19+ applicants that do not have recognised qualifications may still meet course entry requirements through alternative methods of assessment at the College’s discretion.

The general progression route for our Photography (Level 3) programme is:
