T Levels Industry Placements: Connect to Future Talent

T Levels are a two-year technical qualification for 16 to 19 year olds. Equivalent to 3 A levels these courses help young people develop the knowledge, attitude and practical skills to progress into skilled employment, an apprenticeship or further study.

A key feature of a T Level programme is the extended industry placement, connecting businesses to future talent in a meaningful way.

By hosting a T Level student, employers can support workforce development, bring fresh perspectives into their organisation, and identify potential future recruits early.

Support a T Level Student

We invite local employers to support our T level learners by offering an industry placement that will put their learning, knowledge and skills into practice in a real workplace environment.

A student will be invited to work with you for around 45 days, developing skills and building confidence. Placement times can be arranged to fit in with your needs.

For employers it presents a unique opportunity to:

  • Attract motivated young people to your business, bringing in imaginative and new ideas
  • Improve the recruitment pipeline for your business
  • Address local and national skills gaps by helping young people develop the skills your industry needs
  • Develop existing staff’s mentoring and management skills
  • Build a more diverse and creative workforce
  • Save recruitment costs by providing the opportunity to see what the young person can offer, on a no obligation employment basis

Health: Supporting the Adult Nursing Team T Level

T Level students on this course would benefit from industry placements where they'll gain knowledge and skills in assisting adult nursing teams with clinical tasks, supporting individuals in daily activities.

These hands-on experiences are reinforced by classroom learning, giving students a strong foundation in key areas including anatomy and physiology, nutrition and wellbeing, and person-centred care routines. Student Stories

Nathan Travers

Our experience with the NHS Foundation Trust shows us the ins and outs of the hospital environment and what it’s really like. We’ll have experience in different wards – which might spark new interests. During the first year of our course we’ll also gain a Care Certificate that allows us to do bank work in hospitals during the summer holidays – our course leaders are brilliant and ensure we have can have those experiences to take beyond college.

Adult Nursing, T Level

Rumeo De Freitas Pires

The course is very academic and gives more knowledge than cyber security. It offers a variety of jobs including networking, route cause analysis, testing and looking inside computers. I’d say definitely take the course if you want to know everything IT related, such as troubleshooting, networking, route cause analysis, tools and testing. There is some hacking in this course and there will be more next year. I want to do hacking and know this is my future job. I’d like to stay on and do the university level apprenticeship level 6 at GC, and eventually I would like to work at GCHQ.

My lecturers are fantastic, they teach and care for you and I’ve learned a lot from them. We’re treated like adults, and because they’re nurses they truly understand how to help you achieve and bring their experiences into the classroom. Everyone on the course is part of a really close group which makes working together much easier and enjoyable.
