Signing up to the Career Hub means you will have exclusive access to an extended industry-focused work placement. The placement will focus on providing you with an excellent introduction to working life in whatever industry you choose to progress your career in.
What is the Career Hub?
The Career Hub is a work placement programme with a local employer linked to your GC industry specific course. The college has excellent links with over 1,000 companies throughout Gloucestershire in every industry sector we teach. The sooner you sign up, the greater choice of employers you will have to choose from - who are all keen to offer you hands-on, structured work placements in their business.
How will your placement work?
During your work placement you will be expected to complete a certain number of hours of industry placement work over the academic year alongside your full time course. Your placement will take place either one or two days per week throughout the year or as a block of a few weeks, whatever will be best suited to you and the employer. In that time, you will be treated like a real employee in the business and expected to do work relating the sector you have chosen to be in.
Why should I join GC Career Hub?
Joining the Career Hub will give you the confidence and experience after your college course to enter the world of work in an industry you want to be in. You will be learning on the job in a real-life work environment whilst developing your skills to help you progress directly into an apprenticeship or job after college.
