The results process for summer 2020

The college offers a broad range of qualifications with a wide range of exam boards. Each qualification also took a different approach in relation to the COVID closure period, which means that the timing of receiving results may vary from the end of August through to October, depending upon the types of mitigations used.

As such there will not be one specific results day at the college. From the end of August onwards we will email out your results as we receive them and in line with exam board rules.

GCSE results will be available from Aug 20th and will be emailed out as per the November resits.

Vocational results, where grades were calculated, will be available throughout the end of August and we will email these as and when received.

A small number of qualifications with adapted or delayed assessments may not be finalised until late September.

Please be reassured that you will be contacted as soon as we have confirmation about each qualification.

In line with Government regulations, please note that the College can NOT share provisional grades, nor rank orders, with students or parents and carers. The college and teachers cannot enter into discussions with students or parents/carers about the formation of the provisional grades.

Please remember that your subject teachers did not personally choose your final grades. Exam boards have completed a standardisation process with the provisional grades submitted.

You may be disappointed with a grade, but just like after a normal exam or certification process, you need to refer to the appeals procedure to see if you have grounds to appeal and how to complete the process. The appeals process for 2020 can be accessed, after results are received, by emailing: appeals@gloscol.ac.uk
