GC shortlisted for national TES FE award

15 January 2020

Gloucestershire College is excited to announce that, for the third year running, it has been recognised in the national TES FE Awards, after being shortlisted in the 2020 Employer Engagement category.

The prestigious awards celebrate and reward the dedication and expertise of the people and teams who continue to make a significant contribution to improving the skill levels of young people and adult learners.

Employer engagement is at the heart of what GC does, and since launching a suite of six digital apprenticeships in 2017, we have become first choice for employers for staff training and development in this sector.

Our industry-expert trainers, bespoke programmes accredited by the Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) and new training suites all help us provide businesses with cutting-edge digital training solutions that are flexible and responsive to skills gaps.

From hosting business breakfasts, Apprenticeship Open Evenings and focus groups to sitting on skills boards, simulating real workplace environments and attending events such as the National Apprenticeship Show, we work collaboratively with over 800 employers to future-proof talent pipelines and ensure our apprentices to make a significant contribution to the success of their business.

Matthew Burgess, Principal and Chief Executive, said: “We are particularly delighted to be shortlisted for the TES Employer Engagement Award this year. The GC Business Hub and Apprenticeship Teams have worked incredibly hard to develop innovative approaches to delivering training solutions for our employer partners, and this is great recognition of their support and impact.”

TES FE editor, Stephen Exley, said: “Excellent practice exists right across the further education sector, and those shortlisted for the TES FE Awards are the cream of the crop. Our judges were extremely impressed with the calibre of entries. To be shortlisted is an extraordinary achievement."

The winners will be revealed at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Friday 20 March 2020.

Gloucestershire College will join more than 800 guests, including government ministers and the great and good from the education sector, at what promises to be a spectacular evening.
