Bus transport confirmed for Cinderford campus

8 May 2018

Gloucestershire College is delighted to announce the bus transport routes confirmed for the new Forest of Dean Campus in Cinderford; ensuring young people from all across the region will be able to travel easily to the new campus location.

Stagecoach will be running the Service 31 to arrive at the Cinderford campus before 8.45am and leave after 4.15pm; covering Coleford, Milkwall, Coalway, Broadwell, Five Acres, Worrall Hill, Lydbrook, Joys Green and Ruardean. While the Stagecoach Service 746 is also expected to run to the campus from Huntley, Mitcheldean and Drybrook.

The College’s current coach service provider, Michael’s Travel, will continue to provide transport to and from the new campus, covering the following routes: Monmouth, Redbrook, Clearwell, St Briavels, Bream, Whitecroft and Yorkley; and Chepstow, Sedbury, Woolaston, Alvington, Alyburton, Lydney, Blakeney, Soudley and Ruspidge.

Stagecoach will continue to offer GC students discounted fares to and from the campus, while Michael’s Travel will continue with its current season ticket scheme.

In addition to the bus routes, there will be on-site parking for students, available at a nominal charge, as well as access to the campus by foot and bicycle from Cinderford.

Sandra Tyrrell, Assistant Principal, said: “We understand that location and transport to and from the new campus are key concerns for parents and students considering studying at Gloucestershire College – particularly in the more rural areas of the Forest of Dean – which is why we’ve worked hard to ensure accessibility for all, and bus routes covering as much of the region as possible.

“Both Stagecoach and Michael’s Travel will be attending our upcoming Open Evening to provide more information on the routes available and payment options, and answer any questions visitors may have.”

Those wanting to find out more about transport options for the new Forest of Dean Campus can do so at the Open Evening taking place at the current Five Acres Campus, from 5.30pm to 7pm, on Wednesday 16 May. Visit www.forestopen.co.uk to book your place.
