Becky builds ambitious career with Anderson Recruitment

18 May 2018

Apprenticeships are crucial to tackling skills challenges, and play a significant role in helping businesses and individuals grow and prosper. The Gloucestershire College Business Hub supports hundreds of Gloucestershire businesses with apprenticeships to train/upskill new and existing staff members.

Anderson Recruitment has been supporting #GlosBiz with recruitment for over six years, and in that time it has trained three apprentices with Gloucestershire College.

Director Karen Anderson says that apprentices bring great value to the business with a new lease of enthusiasm. “We decided to take on an apprentice to provide a young person with the opportunity to train and develop their skills, and build a career with Anderson Recruitment. We chose Gloucestershire College as our training partner as there is an excellent range of courses available, plus the College is local to our company.

“All our apprentices have taken on a variety of admin duties as part of their job role, such as answering the phone, screening candidates, formatting CVs and posting jobs. In our experience with apprentices we have found that they are very keen to learn, and provide exceptional support to our sales team.”

Becky Anthony joined Anderson Recruitment as Business Administrator in July 2017, studying for her Diploma in Business Administration, which she has successfully completed. Becky has now accepted a full-time position as Business Administrator, offering support to clients and candidates along with assisting the Recruitment Team and also training the latest apprentice.

“I have really enjoyed gaining work experience whilst obtaining my qualification. It has been a really great experience, and I’m pleased that my GC Assessor was able to train and assess me in the workplace.

“I would definitely recommend doing an apprenticeship; it has opened up a lot of opportunities for me to progress in the future and experience different things. I have been offered a full-time position as a Business Administrator now that I have completed my qualification, and I am also going to undertake training to become a Sales Consultant within the recruitment industry.”
