New management apprenticeships accredited by the CMI

To support the growth of dynamic, well-trained leaders and managers, this month Gloucestershire College will launch a new suite of professionally accredited qualifications that offer high quality, flexible development opportunities, which can be paid for by the Apprenticeship Levy.

Strong, effective leaders and managers are imperative for the success of any organisation. Across all industries and sectors, successful leadership is paramount for strategic growth, development and sustainable competitive advantage. Managers with strong leadership skills will ensure their teams achieve their true potential and help an organisation deal with future possibilities and challenges.

Develop strong, dynamic leaders with GC

Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Gloucestershire College now offers two new higher level professional apprenticeships, suitable for new and existing staff:

CMI Team Leader/Supervisor Level 3

This qualification is suitable for first line managers, team leaders and supervisors with responsibility for supporting, managing and developing team members. It will support those managing projects, who are responsible for planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans or resolving problems. The duration of this programme is 18 months, and learners will become an Associate Member of the CMI (ACMI).

CMI Diploma in Leadership and Management Level 5 

This qualification is best suited to senior managers, who are looking to develop strategic skills. It will support managers of teams of projects who are tasked with delivering strategic, operational and departmental goals and objectives. The duration of this programme is 24 months, and learners will become a Member of the CMI (MCMI).

Flexible on delivery – not quality

Both programmes offer flexible delivery options to suit organisations’ management development strategy. The qualifications will be delivered using a blended approach, which in addition to work-based learning, includes monthly evening masterclasses, as well as webinars and other online resources, allowing learners to study in their own time. 

On completion of the qualifications, learners will be able to apply for Chartered Manager status.

Know your funding options

If your organisation has a wage bill of more than £3 million per year, you will be paying into an apprenticeship levy, which can be used to pay for apprenticeship training. If your organisation has a wage bill of less than £3 million per year, you will pay just 10% of the cost of apprenticeship training, with the government funding the rest. This is a cost-effective way of supporting your current workforce development and training plans.
