GC House Blog 16. Finishing touches at Porchester
With the summer break creeping up on us, we are putting in the finishing touches at our second student renovation property in Porchester Road, Gloucester.
Since the last update we have had our Level 1 and 2 Painters and Decorators in, who have painted the three bedrooms upstairs and will start downstairs very soon. The electrical first fix is now complete, and we're just awaiting the consumer unit to be put in place so we can enjoy electric throughout the house.
Flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathroom is now down, thanks to our friends over at Gloucester Carpet Outlet. Our Level 2 and Level 3 Carpenters have now hung all the doors upstairs, so once a room is finished, we will shut the door and keep it shut!
Our next steps will be to get our plumbing students in to sort the boiler out, as well as our Level 3 Carpenters, who will be installing the kitchen units and worktop, supplied by Howdens. After this we will lay the carpet in the front room then all that’s left is some painting, tiling and finishing touches to get the house ready for viewings from potential buyers.
If you like the sound of working on a real renovation project as part of your construction or building services college course, then it's not too late to apply to join us in September. You could be working on our next property - a Victorian house with period features on Elmbridge Road, Gloucester. Check out our courses: www.gloscol.ac.uk/construction
