GC media students shoot official Lakefest video
This summer GC media and photography students were selected to film and photograph Lakefast festival and create the official promotional video for the event.
The students were given a brief to gather a varied body of work by the festival's marketing company, Lost for Words?, which could be drawn upon to promote the 2017 festival.
They attended the festival, which took place in August, for the full four days, carrying out a site walk on the first day to familiarise themselves with the large area within the grounds of Eastnor Castle. For the remainder of the weekend the students roamed the site capturing the bands, workshops, stalls, people and general atmosphere of the musical gathering.
The directors of the festival were so impressed with the professional quality of the images and video the students achieved, that they will be used on Lakefest's website, social media and in marketing material throughout the build up to next year's event.
Natalie at Lost for Words? said:"It's always a gamble when we place the main visual marketing collateral for the following year's festival, and an historical account of this year's, in the hands (quite literally!) of people we have not worked alongside before. But we like a gamble and it paid off!
"The Directors of Lakefest were very impressed with the commitment from the students and the calibre of their work. They were a pleasure to work with and the guidance and communication with their college tutors and employment coaches made the experience hassle-free.
"The video captured a wide variety of material for us and the final cut ticked all of the boxes. This will be uploaded to our new website,as will a new 2016 photo gallery."
