Apprentice Shannon shines at Women in Business Awards
Gloucestershire College is proud to announce that one of its Business and Administration Apprentices, Shannon Keating, who works for Cheltenham charity CCP, took home the title of Female Apprentice of the Year at the Gloucestershire Women in Business Awards 2015.
The sixth annual awards shines the spotlight on the women who are championing the county’s business scene and helping to drive its economy, with the glitzy awards dinner taking place at Cheltenham Racecourse earlier this month, featuring guest speaker Dr Dawn Harper.
In the Female Apprentice of the Year category, judges were looking for someone who has made a real impact on the organisation they work for, as well as evidence of personal self-development and progression, a passion for their chosen apprenticeship and their future career plans.
20-year-old Shannon, a former St Peter’s High School student from Cheltenham, was praised in the awards brochure, which said: “Having joined straight from school, Shannon has shown passion and commitment for CCP, a charity that improves the lives of children, young people, families and vulnerable adults with complex needs. In a short time she has become a valued member of the team.”
Shannon’s Assessor, Sharon Gregory, said: “Shannon is very conscientious and produces a high standard of work. She understands the ethos of CCP and will support her colleagues as much as she can with work-related tasks.
“I am extremely pleased and proud of Shannon. She has worked very hard during her apprenticeship and with CCP. I believe the organisation has now offered Shannon a full-time contract and she will now work towards her Level 3 in Business Administration.”
