Creative Hand and Machine Embroidery

  • Students

    Love to craft? Love to sew? There are so many techniques to explore.

    On this course you will learn the basics of hand embroidery making a small decorative folk art bird. You will also learn how to use the sewing machine to create beautiful machine embroidery to create a zippered pouch. The course aims to show you just a few of the exciting techniques in textile arts and crafts.

    Jo Teague is a popular arts and crafts tutor based in Gloucestershire, she loves working with all forms of textiles and her enthusiasm for all forms of textiles, from the making, to designers and the history of textiles can be infectious. Your creativity will be encouraged from the very beginning!

    Each week you will need to bring a basic sewing kit

    This will need to include

    • Sharp scissors for fabric
    • Small pair of scissors for paper
    • Pins and pin cushion
    • Hand sewing needles
    • Sewing cotton
    • Tape measure

    Each week you will be advised of what materials you will need for the following session.
