What are Skills Bootcamps?
These courses are FREE to those Aged 19 and over, not employed for more than 20 hours per week, currently live or work work in the south west and have been unemployed for less than 12 months.
Our flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, offer intensive training in the cyber and digital skills our county needs, with a fast track, guaranteed interview with a local employer.
Skills Bootcamps are delivered online via OpenClassrooms and include weekly mentorship sessions with an industry expert and career coaching webinars. There are no tests or exams; the courses are project-driven and experiential to ensure you are work-ready.

Web Developer
Web developers are fundamental in any modern business, and bring to life the mock ups created by designers; translating graphics into web languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Through this course, you could become a Junior Web Developer or Web Designer who can hit the ground running.
Whilst not essential, a basic understanding or previous experience in web development would be advantageous.
You'll learn:
- Static Web Design with HTML5 and CSS to build your first web page following a mockup
- CSS Animations with SASS to ensure design consistency, develop a navigation structure and implement design effects
IT Support Technician
IT support technicians wear many hats, and are a key link between users and IT departments; involved in all aspects of IT infrastructure, from deployment and maintenance to security and upgrading.
Through this course, you could become an IT Support Technician, Support, Helpdesk or Infrastructure Technician or Computer Support Specialist.
You'll learn:
- Workstation installation to prepare, install and maintain workstations to help users work more effectively
- Secure workstations in an IT inventory and set up a backup
- Provide user support conducting incident analysis and following established procedures.

We'll support you every step of the way to help you prepare you for your interview with a local employer.
All we ask is that you have a strong desire and commitment to working in the computing industry and you are able to study for 30 hours per week.
