What are Skills Bootcamps?

Skills Bootcamps are government-funded intensive training courses (up to 16 weeks) available to anyone from the age of 19 who are in work, self-employed, unemployed for more than 12 months or returning to work after a break.


They provide valuable medium-higher level skills based on local employer demand and include mentorship sessionscareer-coaching webinars and a guaranteed job interview on completion.

Skills Bootcamps at Gloucestershire College

Our Skills Bootcamps courses are delivered remotely or out of ADA, our new £3 million computing and cyber training facility at Cheltenham campus - with access to the latest industry-standard equipment, an on-site library, and a chance to network with like-minded learners and employers. 

Web Developer Skills Bootcamp

Web developers bring to life mock ups created by designers; translating graphics into web languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Through this course, learners could become a Junior Web Developer or Web Designer who can hit the ground running.

They will learn:

  • Static Web Design with HTML5 and CSS to build your first web page following a mockup
  • CSS Animations with SASS to ensure design consistency, develop a navigation structure and implement design effects 
  • Website optimisation with SEO and accessibility to improve the size and speed of your website, analyse search engine performance and implement current best practices.


IT Support Technician Skills Bootcamp

IT support technicians are a key link between users and IT departments; involved in all aspects of IT infrastructure, from deployment and maintenance to security and upgrading. 

Through this course, learners could become an IT Support Technician, Support, Helpdesk or Infrastructure Technician or a Computer Support Specialist.

They will learn:

  • Workstation installation to prepare, install and maintain workstations to help users work more effectively
  • Secure workstations in an IT inventory and set up a backup
  • Provide user support conducting incident analysis and following established procedures.
