Getting Started

Your First Day

When you arrive at the College on your first day you will have an induction into your course and meet your class mates.

You will find out about the modules your course involves, trips, exams, and what materials are required (if you have not already been told to buy them).

You will also get a tour of the campus you'll be studying on. All campuses are sign posted to show what can be found in each direction but please ask for help if you do get lost.

Our enrolment and reception teams are used to dealing with students who need a bit of extra help at first.

Your First Six Weeks

During your first six weeks you will be made familiar with your course and the College. You'll be invited to the Freshers' Fayre where you can obtain information on College life and the activities and opportunities which are available here.

If you decide in this time that the course you have chosen is not for you, don’t worry. We have procedures in place to help you determine the right path for you.

We offer 1:1 appointments with our Advice team to help them to determine the next steps. This may mean switching to a different course. Contact Student Services to book an appointment.

If you think you may wish to try a different course within your first six weeks, speak to your Learning Mentor or with the Advice team to discuss next steps.
