Gloucestershire College honoured the achievements of almost 300 students on Friday 24 November, at its 27th Higher Awards Ceremony held in the grand setting of Gloucester Cathedral. At the annual anticipated event, 91 students who completed their higher education qualifications in 2017 gathered to graduate in person, in front of their proud lecturers and families
The third-year students (pictured above), wrote, shot and edited the winning short film entitled, ‘Broadcast’ as part of their degree course, accredited by Birmingham University. Directed by 21-year-old Mollie Boughen, the film follows timid weather girl, Fiona.
It was a double celebration for the married couple, who both received Foundation Degree certificates in Therapeutic Counselling, at the November ceremony in Gloucester Cathedral. The day was made even more special by the fact it was also their one year wedding anniversary.
In light of the recent news that record numbers of Access to HE students progressed to degree-level study last year*, and the upcoming changes to the Advanced Learner Loan to increase accessibility to higher level study, Gloucestershire College is urging those who missed out on the chance to go to university to consider this route to improve their career prospects.
