GC offers a preview to the Cinderford Regeneration Board
Last week, Cinderford Regeneration Board members were treated to a guided tour of the new Gloucestershire College campus in Cinderford. Contractors and college chiefs were on hand to explain the progress being made on site and what learning activities will take place in each part of the new building.
Gloucestershire College’s investment in the Cinderford Northern Quarter is the anchor development for the Cinderford regeneration project and is the culmination of many years of partnership working to bring this about.
Vice-Chair of the Cinderford Regeneration Board, Tim Holder, said:
“The Forest needs to raise aspirations and help social mobility in this area and the new Gloucestershire College facility in Cinderford is going to play a major part in this. It has been a real eye-opener to see how well the new building is coming together and the amount of care being taken to achieve a good quality build by contractors Barnwood Construction. I look forward to seeing the doors of this impressive building opening to students in September”.
Principal at Gloucestershire College, Matthew Burgess, said:
“The contractors continue to make remarkable progress in transforming this site into a 21st century college ready to welcome students in September 2018. The combination of the stunning location and incredible facilities will make this a unique place to study in the UK. I can’t wait for it to open.”
