- Confident Dental - Stroud
GC provides apprenticeships to businesses throughout Gloucestershire, adopting a partnership approach which is beneficial to both the learner and the employer. The Level 3 Dental Nursing apprenticeship is ideally suited to both new and existing staff members as an ideal route into Dental Nursing whether individuals are looking to begin their career or retrain and up-skill.
Beginning a successful career
The new apprentices gathered with Gloucestershire College Training Assessor, Wendy Paintin, for an introduction to the programme and a discussion around how to make the most of the in-class learning over the duration of the apprenticeship programme. Whilst the majority of the programme will take place in the workplace, the apprentices will attend College for one afternoon/evening every three weeks, benefiting from learning in the classroom environment as well as the opportunity for peer support and knowledge sharing.
Peer Support throughout the programme
The group discussed ways of overcoming barriers that they may face during the apprenticeship, such as maintaining levels of motivation over the course of a hectic and demanding programme. The group discussed focusing on the end goal, and getting exciting about the prospects of the future upon completion of the apprenticeship, when they are equipped with valuable experience as well as a formal qualification and professional registration.
Wendy Paintin, Gloucestershire College’s Training Assessor for Dental Nursing apprenticeships commented:
“I am looking forward to supporting my apprentices for 2 years, enabling them to gain a formal qualification and professional registration.”
“The employers of these apprentices are lucky to have such enthusiastic apprentices who will contribute, along with the existing dental team, to providing outstanding patient care”.
The next intake of Dental Nursing apprenticeships will be in April 2018. Whether you are looking to start a Dental Nursing Apprenticeship, or are considering an apprenticeship programme for your practice, get in contact to find out more.
