GC House Blog 14. Things are taking shape at Porchester
Progress has continued at Porchester Road over the Easter period and we have a lot to update you on!
Firstly, we have knocked down the old kitchen wall to open up the old garage area into a fantastic, bright family friendly space. The old garage door has been removed and the bricklaying students have done a brilliant job building a wall in its place. A new window has also been installed.
We are currently preparing for the carpentry and plastering students to come in and complete the ground floor of the house. This will involve plastering the old garage and fitting a new timber floor.
Upstairs, the house has all new radiators and painting has begun! Next on the plan is the installation of the new bathroom suite by GC plumbing students, who can't wait to get their hands on a real site.
Our renovation truck has also had a make-over during the Easter holidays, with its own branding!
Plans are underway for our third property on Elmbridge Road, Gloucester. We are really excited about the period Victorian features and restoring these to their former glory. Under the upstairs carpets are wooden floor boards, which so far look to be in good condition! Fingers crossed these can also be exposed and restored.
Keep following us on Facebook (@Gloscol) and Twitter (@rachcapener) for updates on GC renovations between blog posts.
