To celebrate its achievements over the past 18 months, Gloucestershire College has launched its 2015-16 Annual Review, which provides the local community and businesses with information about the College’s activities, partnerships and investments.

The past year-and-a-half has been hugely successful for the College: it grew its provision, invested to improve facilities, formed new partnerships with county businesses and education providers, and advanced its key strategic priorities to further its transformation into an agile, responsive organisation that supports, and meets the needs of, the community.

All of this has helped the College equip its students with the qualifications, experience and skills to be successful beyond college, including work-readiness, which is vital to contributing to the growth of the UK economy.

Highlights in the Annual Review include the creation of three new STEM centres for engineering and construction training; the development of the county’s first trailblazer degree apprenticeship; the purchase of a house as a renovation project for students; outstanding apprentice award wins; £10k raised for charity and 28k hours volunteered in the community; the launch of the South West’s first city centre training salon; and collaboration with Chelsea Brasserie to give catering students real work experience.

Chair of the Board of Governors, Graham Ripley, said: “The world of FE is changing, significantly and fast. That is why Gloucestershire College is changing too, as part of its Strategic Plan, to provide greater organisational agility and a more effective operation which maintains and enhances the focus on students and employers as the key drivers of the organisation. The Board is proud of the way staff are responding positively to the new culture.”

The publication has been distributed to the College’s key internal and external stakeholders. You can view the Annual Review online at www.gloscol.ac.uk/annualreview, or if you would like a printed version, request this via email at marketing@gloscol.ac.uk
