Around the World in Make-up Competition

Gloucestershire College’s beauty students will go head-to-head in an Around the World in Make-Up competition at Gloucester Campus on Tuesday 24 May, with renowned make-up artist and founder of the STV cosmetics range, Steve Douch, lined up to judge.

Art Lecturer exhibits inspiration for students

GC Sixth Form student secures poetry publishing deal

A talented GC Sixth Form student has secured a publishing deal for her first book of poetry, entitled Letters, which will be available from Gloucester and Cheltenham bookstores and libraries, as well as digitally, from Monday 30 May.

New Forest of Dean college campus set to welcome students in 2018

The governance team at Gloucestershire College have this week reconfirmed their commitment to building a new state-of-the-art campus in Cinderford’s Northern Quarter, subject to securing the capital required. Three years after the initial new campus announcement, the project timeline is now becoming clearer, and it is hoped that contractors will be on site later this year.

GC House Blog 7. First Fix DONE

Last week we discovered a very rotten timber lintel – the support for doorways or windows in load-bearing walls – which our Bricklaying Lecturer and house hero, Ryan Heath, replaced with a concrete one. Ryan did this very efficiently, making sure the structure of the wall wasn’t compromised.

GC and apprentices at the Gloucestershire Apprenticeship Awards

Gloucestershire College is thrilled to have been shortlisted for not one, but two awards in the 2016 Gloucestershire Apprenticeship Awards. Not only that, four GC apprentices have also been named finalists for awards too.

Apprentices will ‘future-proof’ business, says carpentry company

Blakeney-based carpentry company, R J Glover Builders, is the latest Gloucestershire business to champion apprenticeships, saying they will future-proof the organisation as traditional methods are passed down from the more experienced tradesmen.
