A college has bought a run-down house for students to practise their building skills. The two-bedroom terraced house in Tredworth was snapped up for £71,500 by Gloucestershire College. The aim is to renovate the property over the next three months and sell it on, using the money for another house.

Apprenticeship reforms: A round-up of what’s changing

The government has ambitious targets to increase the number of apprentices to 3 million in England by 2020. In our previous article, we outlined the government’s vision for apprenticeships which includes employers feeling that they have full ownership of apprenticeships, designing and owning the content of all apprenticeship standards and assessments

GC House Blog 2. Ripping out and raring to go

Following the successful launch earlier this month, students have been hard at work on the GC House, gutting and preparing it for the first fix stage.

GC girl power in forest enduro race

Gloucestershire College played host to a fast-paced MTB Enduro race earlier this month, which saw students from colleges across the South West take on an 8km route against the clock in the Cannop Valley in the Forest of Dean.
