Master languages or teach English abroad with Gloucestershire College
For those who have always wanted to learn another language or teach English as they travel the world, Gloucestershire College has launched a new Part-time and Professional Course Guide brimming with courses that can help them achieve just that.
Available at the College’s Cheltenham Campus, the new series of language-based courses have starting dates between September 2015 and January 2016, and can conveniently fit in around busy or working lives.
Speakers of multiple languages have a real advantage when it comes to working with larger businesses, as many will work with companies abroad, or have branches in other countries. Gloucestershire College’s courses are ideal for those looking to learn another language for both business and leisure use.
Language courses include French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian and Spanish, with various levels available from taster and beginner to upper intermediate. There are also Level 1 and Level 2 British Sign Language courses available at both the Gloucester and Cheltenham campuses.
CELTA programmes (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), meanwhile, are available on both a full- and part-time basis, and open up a world of exciting English language teaching opportunities.
The course provides students with the skills, knowledge and hands-on practice to follow a rewarding career in teaching, either at home or abroad, even if they have no previous teaching experience.
Plus, Gloucestershire College’s CELTA courses are internationally recognised and validated by the University of Cambridge; the most prestigious and well-known qualification in the world for people starting out in the profession.
Vice Principal Peter White said: “Gloucestershire College’s successful language school opens up endless opportunities for those serious about working abroad or for companies with international links.
“Offering these courses on a flexible, part-time basis enables those already working in industry to get qualified for a career change or to simply upskill, around their work and other existing commitments.”
The guide also includes details of all other part-time and professional course options across areas including: Arts, Media, Music and Fashion; Business, Administration, Management, Finance and IT; Catering and Hospitality; Counselling; Construction and Building Services; Engineering; Hairdressing, Beauty and Holistic Therapies; Sport and Fitness; Teacher Training.
