GC sponsors #GlosBizAwards Growth Business of the Year Award

1 April 2015

Gloucestershire College is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the inaugural Growth Business of the Year category in the 2015 Gloucestershire Business Awards, and is calling on all of its valued employer partners to enter now.

Considered to be one of the most prestigious events in the Gloucestershire business calendar since launching 18 years ago, the Gloucestershire Business Awards shines the spotlight on the county’s businesses and celebrates new talent, alongside sharing the successes of its established firms and businesspeople.

Gloucestershire College works with no less than 927 local businesses, both big and small, to deliver apprenticeships and employee training across all industries.

The Growth Business of the Year category is a brand new addition to the 2015 awards, and will recognise an outstanding business which can demonstrate an increase in sales, profit, market share or business expansion in the past three years.

It will be awarded to the organisation that can demonstrate the best levels of growth for its size and sector within Gloucestershire. Judges will be looking for significant growth or expansion; innovation in products, services or processes; customer and staff engagement; effective leadership and management; and strong results.

Each business entering will need to submit an overview of their accounts over the past three years, which will, of course, be treated confidentially.

Vice Principal Peter White said: “We’re thrilled to be sponsoring this new category in the Gloucestershire Business Awards, which we believe will have real longevity as growth has been a key factor in many of the entries to the awards over the years. As a college we continually strive for growth and innovation, and are supportive of local businesses and entrepreneurs that do the same.

“Working closely with local businesses has always been at the heart of what we do at Gloucestershire College. As a career-focused education provider, we are committed to finding out what employers want so that we can ensure our students leave equipped with the skills and experience required for success beyond college.”

The Gloucestershire Business Awards officially launched on Tuesday 31 March at Cheltenham Racecourse, with online nominations now officially open for all 14 categories.

Entries close on Friday 24 July and the glittering black-tie awards ceremony will take place at Cheltenham Racecourse on Thursday 1 October.

We hope that many of our emerging and established employer partners will get behind and enter the Growth Business of the Year category in this year’s Gloucestershire Business Awards and look forward to celebrating with them at the ceremony later this year.
