Nominate your Young Community Star!

10 February 2015

Nominations are now open for the 2015 Pride of the Forest Awards and Gloucestershire College is the proud sponsor of the Young Community Star prize.

The Pride of the Forest Awards have been created by Gloucester Citizen and Forest of Dean District Council to acknowledge the achievements of unsung heroes of the Forest community, who give their up their own time to help others.

The categories include Community Star, Sportsperson of the Year, Young Sportsperson of the Year, Carer of the Year, the George Read Community Award, the Citizen's Readers' Choice and the Chairman's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Gloucestershire College has a keen interest in supporting and developing the talents of young people, and one of its priorities is to equip students with the wider skills to be successful beyond college.

Young Community Star is a very special award for a young person (aged under 18) who has made a significant contribution to their community, whether that be through volunteering, caring or fundraising.

If you know someone that fits the bill, simply complete the online nomination form before the closing date of Wednesday 4 March.

The awards ceremony will take place on Friday 20 March, when all finalists will be invited to attend the dinner and the winners will be announced.

Good luck to all nominees!
