GC The Movie premiere!
Gloucestershire College is thrilled to unveil a series of inspiring videos starring its students and lecturers that showcase a wide range of academic areas and college life. Introducing… GC The Movie!
The 18 mini movies have been professionally produced to offer prospective students, parents, local businesses and the wider community a unique insight into each department. From student success, support and ambition to the variety of course options, industry-standard facilities and employer partnerships, current students and staff give a candid accounts of their experiences at Gloucestershire College in a way never seen before.
Fast-paced, slick and enlightening, each GC The Movie features footage of students and staff in action in the classrooms, workshops and around campus. If you’ve ever wanted to see what they get up to in Cheltenham Fashion Academy, go behind-the-scenes in the College’s commercial kitchens or even check out the salons or recording studios, now you can.
Plus, former Music Technology student, Harry Steele, and his band Young Kato, kindly agreed to provide the perfect soundtrack for the videos, in the form of their latest single ‘Sunshine’. Harry is an example of what some of the College’s most successful students have gone on to achieve.
Directed by the College’s Marketing Department and filmed and produced by Cheltenham-based McPherson Stevens, GC The Movie covers the following academic areas: Sixth Form; Apprenticeships; Construction and Building Services; Cheltenham Fashion Academy; Motor Vehicle; Hairdressing, Beauty and Holistic Therapies; Health and Social Care; Visual Arts; Early Years; Catering and Hospitality; Independent Living; Languages ESOL; Sports, Public Services and Outdoor Adventure; IT and Computing; Media, Music and Performing Arts; Higher Education; Travel and Tourism; and Business (Further Education).
The mini movies launch alongside all-new course overview pages on the Gloucestershire College website, which boast several new features designed to give visitors greater insight into each academic area. These include staff and student profiles, examples of students’ work, quick facts and an overview of the facilities, as well as their own GC The Movie.
Peter White, Vice Principal at Gloucestershire College, said: “We host busy Open Evenings at each of our campuses three times a year, but GC The Movie gives those who may be unable to make them a glimpse into the courses we offer and life at Gloucestershire College.
“As well as knowing our excellent success rates, being able to see classes in action and hearing our students’ views – in their own words – is important to young people when deciding where to study. We want to help them make the right choice and hope they, the local community and our partners enjoy the premiere of GC The Movie.”
