Gloucestershire College apprenticeship vacancies live and online
Gloucestershire College is making it even easier for people to search and apply for apprenticeship vacancies in the county, thanks to the launch of a live vacancy page on its website.
The College has taken a lead role in raising the profile of apprenticeships in Gloucestershire in recent years, but this is the first time prospective apprentices can clearly view available apprenticeship vacancies on the College’s website, and click through to the national apprenticeship website to apply online directly. The easy-to-navigate page displays apprenticeships by location on a Gloucestershire map, as well as in list form, including an overview, the name of the employer, its location and the closing date for applications.
Apprenticeships are a great way to ‘earn while you learn’ and give students the real-world experience and skills employers increasingly require. The National Apprenticeship Service reports that employers find apprentices 15% more employable than young people with other qualifications.
Peter White, Vice Principal at Gloucestershire College, said: “We are committed to working closely with local businesses to provide apprenticeship opportunities across a wide range of sectors, and the introduction of the live vacancies page on our website is another step forward in highlighting the huge range of opportunities available to both young people, and to those who might influence their next steps such as parents and careers advisors.
“Apprenticeships continue to grow in popularity as they provide a fantastic platform for apprentices to gain industry relevant skills and experience whilst earning a salary, and enable local businesses to ‘grow their own’. It’s win-win.”
There are currently 16 apprenticeship vacancies live on the Gloucestershire College website, including Business Administration Apprenticeships at Harbour Key and CleeveLink Homecare in Cheltenham, and Civica UK in Coleford; an Apprentice Dental Receptionist at Roseville House Dental Practice in Gloucester; an Apprentice Chef at the Seagrave Arms in Chipping Camden and The Ryeworth Inn in Cheltenham; and a Front of House Apprentice at Orles Barn Hotel in Ross-on-Wye.
Apprenticeships are open to those aged 16 and over who are living in England and not in full-time education. All apprentices receive the appropriate national minimum wage and after finishing, 85% are reported to remain in employment, with 64% staying on with the same employer.
