Gloucestershire College explores international growth opportunities
New English language programme in development for Chinese students.
On Tuesday 8 July, Gloucestershire College played host to the senior management team of Nanchang Institute of Technology, located in the capital city of Jiangxi province, Nanchang, in China.
The visit was organised by Qing Lin, CEO of Join in China. The aim of the visit was to establish a working relationship that could lead to the creation of learning programmes which enable students from the Nanchang Institute of Technology to spend a proportion of their studies in the UK, developing their English language skills at Gloucestershire College.
Peter White, Vice Principal said; “The Nanchang Institute is a high regarded university specialising in technology. I hope that we can develop courses together that incorporate our expertise in English language training. An additional benefit would be the opportunity for our home students to visit Nanchang for cultural exchanges and joint project work. We are proud of our reputation for English Language training and already have several overseas government contracts in addition to teaching English to many hundreds of individuals each year.”
He added; “Our discussions with the Nanchang Institute are at an early stage but we are very positive about working together in the future.”
