The Student Services Team has closed the doors of its first #GCPopUp shop after a successful eight week period in the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Gloucester. Whilst open, the #GCPopUp welcomed over 1600 visitors and took over 150 course applications.
The #GCPopUp, which opened on Monday 1st July, was opened to offer course information and independent career advice in the City Centre. Visitors were able to explore courses starting in September, view and apply for live apprenticeship vacancies online and access information on funding and finance, including the new 24+ Loan.
The #GCPopUp also hosted a number of daily ‘added value’ events, including career master classes, apprenticeship advice sessions and interactive taster events.
The shop was fully kitted out by the College’s support teams and featured standout fuchsia pink walls, Macs for online careers research and video showcases of student work.
Peter White, Executive Director of Customer Services and Marketing said;
“The GC Pop Up has been a great success. We’ve had really positive feedback, both on the appearance of the shop, and the value and convenience it offered to our visitors. We knew that many young people would still be undecided about their future career and their next education steps over the summer period, so instead of asking them to come to find us, we decided to go out to them.”
“As far as we know, this was the first College Pop Up of its kind in the country, and it’s certainly something we’d like to do again.”
