The Dental Nursing Advanced Apprenticeship is a training and education programme designed for dental nurses with a minimum of six months experience of working within a dental practice. The training includes: Maintaining environments, instruments and equipment for clinical dental procedures Providing chair-side support during various dental procedures Contributing to producing dental images Basic life support Health and safety Employee Rights and Responsibilities Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Skills and attributes you need: Good interpersonal skills Good communication skills Suitable level of physical fitness for some aspects of the role (standing for long periods) Ability to work in small teams, listening and contributing towards decision-making and practice A positive, non-judgemental & open-minded attitude A standard of literacy and numeracy to meet the demands of the job and the ability to achieve the framework requirement for Functional Skills Willingness to undergo a CRB check (enhanced CRB checks are mandatory for all those working directly with patients or service users in the health sector) Qualifications you gain: Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing (QCF) Level 3 Award in Employment and Personal Learning Skills in Health Functional Skills: Level 2 English and Level 2 Mathematics Assessment: You will be required to compile an online portfolio of evidence demonstrating your knowledge and competence and in order to gain part of the qualification a period of day release every two weeks will be required. All assessments will take place in the workplace and an assessor will guide and support you to achieve this qualification. Is this for me? As an apprentice you will earn a salary, whilst working alongside experienced colleagues at work and studying for your qualification.
