    This course gives you the opportunity to learn about the basics of working in the sports industry.

    You will develop a range of skills including:

    • Communication
    • Teamwork and Leadership
    • Problem Solving 
    • Organising Events

    Prepare yourself for an active career in a range of sectors including sport leadership, leisure and recreation and the fitness industry by enrolling yourself onto the Level 1 Sport course. Get ready to get physical. This course will put your fitness levels to the test, and at the same time you’ll learn all about physical fitness, team sports, safety factors relating to exercise, sports leadership and teamwork.

    This is a great introductory course that will give you plenty of options and allow you to pursue your dream career.

    As part of your studies, you’ll get the chance to improve on your English and maths skills that help you succeed in education, employment, lifelong learning and personal development. You will also have a Professional Development Coach that will help you improve your employability skills.

    When you are required to undertake sporting activities, you’ll need to wear the correct sports kit and footwear. During the year, the tutors will organise trips and activities that are relevant to your course. There is a charge for these trips and activities and you will be expected to pay when you enrol for the course. Full details can be given by the tutor.


At Gloucestershire College we want students to develop their English and maths skills so that they achieve their learning goals and future career aims. For this reason all full-time students who have not achieved grade A* to C English language or maths GCSE will study these subjects as part of their course.
