Engineering - Mechanical

    This higher apprenticeship is intended for those looking to pursue a career in mechanical engineering and covers the areas of material science, thermodynamic and mechanical principles. Much of the learning will focus on live project briefs, real case studies and work-related scenarios. The delivery mode can be flexible and may be done through day release, evening delivery or block release. Successful completion of the course may allow progression onto HND Level 5 and several related BSc or BEng degree courses. The competence and knowledge qualifcations in this framework contribute to general competence as measured in the Engineering Council's UK specification and is endorsed by the IMechE. Elements of this framework: · BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma in Mechanical Engineering · Level 4 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering Manufacture · Employee Rights and Responsibilities · Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

    The apprenticeship will take 30 months to complete. The apprentice will be required to study at college for one day per week. Workplace assessment (number of visits will vary with each individual.
