This course gives you the opportunity to learn about the skills and knowledge required for a career in health and social care and will prepare you for the future work in this field.
You will study a range of care related optional units along with the following:
- Human Lifespan Development
- Health and Social Care Values
- Effective Communication
- Healthy Living and Wellbeing.
The course will appeal to students who have a keen interest in health and social care and wish to study a practical work related course. These qualifications will be assessed by coursework, external assessment and projects, assignments, presentations and practical activities and on work placement.
A fee is charged for the DBS check. You will be advised on a text book to purchase and you need to be prepared to pay for educational visits that will take place during the course. Should an exam resit be required, an additional fee of £15 will be charged by the College.
At Gloucestershire College we want students to develop their English and maths skills so that they achieve their learning goals and future career aims. For this reason all full-time students who have not achieved grade A* to C English language or maths GCSE will study these subjects as part of their course.
